Learning Opportunities

At Ocean Arts we provide our own in house learning opportunities. In the past we have been involved with several important regional and national historic and cultural events including the Lindisfarne Gospels Durham event organised by the British Library and Durham Cathedral. We have also been partners with the Imperial War Museum and took part in the commemorations of the centenary of World War 1.
19Events like these, and they include working with the BBC, the Cultural Spring, The National Trust to name a few. People attending Ocean Arts have enabled to work on projects at the National Glass Centre and performed on the professional stage before and audience.
• We also create opportunities for professional artists to come and work in our art studio
• We have use of a professional music recording studio
• our drama and performance group entertain residents of local care homes for the elderly.
” I like being part of Ocean Choices because I have learned so many things I didn’t know anything about, especially the history of South Shields at the time of World War One”  Colin S.
